About the Guest Speaker
Janet worked in IT for about 40 years, playing all roles from developer through Systems Analyst to Project Manager on projects of all sizes. She worked as a Business Analyst in one of the “Big Four” banks in South Africa for 11 years, working on major projects. Since 2012, she consulted as a BA Coach and Mentor for the same bank. She is now mostly retired and enjoying her leisure, but is still available for consulting, coaching and mentoring.
Janet joined IIBA® (International Institute of Business Analysis) in 2006 and has been active in the local chapter from 2007. She was the Chapter President from September 2012 to January 2016. She received the IIBA® CBAP® (Certified Business Analysis Professional™) certification in November 2011 and recertified in 2014. In July 2012, she joined the writing team for version 3 of A Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide).
Janet enjoys the wide scope of business analysis and appreciates the way BABOK® version 3 is extending this scope. She is still passionate about business analysis and promotes it every chance she gets. She also loves to talk about business analysis (and many other topics) whenever she can find an audience.
