About the Speakers

Janet Wood

Janet Wood has been working in IT for almost 40 years and has played all roles from developer through Systems Analyst to Project Manager on projects ranging from small one-person projects to a massive multi-system, multi-vendor project. She worked as a Business Analyst in one of the “Big Four” banks for over 11 years, working on major projects. She received her CBAP® in November 2011 and since then has been providing coaching and mentoring for BAs and their managers.

She has been a member of IIBA® (International Institute of Business Analysis) since 2006 and has been active in the local chapter for most of that time. She has been the Chapter President since September 2012. She was a member of the IIBA® writing team for version 3 of the BABOK®.

Francois Combrinck

Francois started working as a Business Analysis almost by accident and has been enjoying it ever since. He has worked mostly in the Financial Services Industry with significant exposure to AML Compliance in multi-national implementations. He is passionate about Business Analysis and the value that that it adds to organisations. He believes that the Business Analyst holds the keys to real business value and is therefore the key player in end-to-end project success. Francois also holds a degree in Econometrics which has proven surprisingly useful in Business Analysis. After hours he teaches music, sings and plays keys for a band and coaches a choir.
